Lauren Peterson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University (1992) and her Master of Social Work from Indiana University Northwest in 2000. Lauren is a Consultant for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Therapy as of 2022. She completed the training in 2015 and decided to do more to assist other EMDR therapists. She completed her certification as an Employee Assistance Professional in July of 2022. Lauren is certified in the evidence-based practice modalities of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She is trained in Yoga as RYT – 200 and has an additional 100 hours in Trauma sensitive Yoga. Lauren has been trained in Functional Family Therapy which is also an evidence-based practice model.
She considers herself a generalist having experience working with a wide age range of clientele, backgrounds, and presenting concerns. Lauren has compassion for others and is genuinely concerned about making an impact on others and assisting them with skills and understanding to move one towards a greater satisfaction in life. She utilizes humor in her work and is also willing to assist others from a faith-based perspective to bring about a better quality of life for themselves. Lauren has served as an adjunct professor at Indiana Wesleyan University since 2009 until 2020. She currently gives back to Social Work filed by providing Internship supervision and or licensure supervision.
