Matthew Cross is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Licensed Addictions Counselor Associate (LACA). He received his Master of Education (MSED) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Purdue University Northwest in 2019.
Matthew seen clients at an individual outpatient facility throughout 2018-2019 which helped him hone therapeutic skills on a range of mental health concerns. Emphasis is placed with those struggling with anxiety, addiction, and depression concerns. In Fall of 2019, Matthew worked at an inpatient addiction rehab facility. He worked this position for two years, which provided experience on the impact dual diagnosis influences both addiction and the mental health concerns. In August of 2021, he started working with Franciscan Health Employee Assistance Program.
Matthew considers his therapeutic lens Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered in nature. He works with numerous approaches to several mental health concerns, but, behavioral change approaches is what Matthew feels create positive improvements in a client’s quality of life.
