Patricia Bailey-Johnson is a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) 2014 and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) 2011. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Ball State University in 1982. During her undergraduate studies, Patricia experienced a pivotal moment that solidified her commitment to the field; she witnessed the urgent needs of individuals within the developmental disability community and felt compelled to act. After collaborating with the assigned social worker to address these needs, she realized that her passion for helping others was innate, prompting her to change her major to social work the following semester. Patricia views her work in social work as a ministry and embraces it as a God-given calling. In 1997 she furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Science in Social Work from Loyola University.
Her 30 plus years of experience includes working with developmental disabilities, medical social work including renal dialysis, medical surgical units, maternal child, neo-natal intensive care, ICU, emergency medicine, psychiatry, addictions and with the employee assistance which included work with unions, labor relators, municipalities, and training employees in the areas of addiction, depression, anxiety, and conducting critical incident stress debriefings.
Today she continues to serve the community with compassion and dedication, fulfilling her mission to make a difference in the lives of those she supports. She also understands the importance of knowing her community. She realized some time ago that relationship building is paramount and building a network of people who can help is a must! She sometimes jokes if she won the lottery tomorrow, she would still do something in the field of social work—but she would have to play the lottery first!
